Words of Wisdom :)

I often wonder if I am the only one who doesn’t know who I am or what I am supposed to do with my life. Talking with others this past month has made me realize many people feel the same as I do. There was someone today who really helped me out in this situation I am in so I thought I would share her words of Wisdom.

I told her about how I have no clue what I want to do and everyone has all these dreams and I really don’t have any. She was like don’t worry about it. Its ok to not know what you want to do. Your only 18 and your still figuring out who you are. If you chase a dream before you know who you are, then you may end up doing something that you were never created to do. You will know what you love because that is the thing that you will keep going back to. She Said

“If I were put in a Cardboard box and all I would be doing was acting I would be happy because that’s what I love.”

You throw all your cards in and put all your eggs in one basket and even if you fail you will still do it. Because it’s the only thing you know. it’s the only thing that makes you feel like you inside. Its like a tree. The blossoms come before the leaves or the fruit without the blossoms, you will have no fruit. Make sure you know who you are before you chase your dreams. So don’t worry if you don’t know what you are supposed to do, or who you are supposed to be. You still have lots of time.

So find out who you are. What makes you happy, what you could do forever even if there was no reward. Find what satisfies you on the inside, and keeps you going. Find that one thing and run with it. Find that one thing and chase it throughout your life time. Find that one thing and your life will indeed be a good one.

Special thanks to Maggie and Gabriel for your insight i love you guys!

Lord of the Dance

Dancing What a cool way to express yourself. What an exciting way to release your emotions and feelings into the atmosphere. What a great way to experience the awesomeness of human anatomy. Every muscle moving to the beat. Every bone bending, every nerve sensing your whole body feeling the air moving around you as you sway back and forth. Everyone has a dance If you have not yet found it I challenge you to look for it to seek it out.

I dance as a warrior my fist swinging, my movements jolting but flowing to the sound of the drum. As the bass vibrates the bleachers below me, my feet contribute to the noise as they stamp up and down as my sudden movements help shake my platform.

Then I am a lover. Delicate, tender, my arms moving in a rhythmic pattern, my hands swirling and my body twirling like a scarlet cloth being blown in the wind.

Then I am a child my face beams and my body explodes as I try and release the excitement I feel inside. My hands shake as I jump up and down not caring about my movements anymore just trying to expend as much energy as I can while the music’s playing. I feel so silly as I bounce up and down, twirling in circles till I get dizzy and almost fall over. I run back and forth and laugh as I try and sing the words to the song being played.

Then I am still, resting, but still dancing, or at least my heart is. Still moving in response as the piano players fingers sweep across the keys pressing down on the keyboard. Then my ears hum and the bass and violin mix they form a sound so sweet it can only be described in terms of your ears understanding because words alone are not enough to explain the sound waves crashing into your body. Then the drums pick up again and as the sound escalates they mix together like that of vegetables being thrown into a blender. The final result something purely amazing something that feeds the hunger in your soul.

There is something so magical about the way a dancer shows how they feel. Every step leaves a footprint, every move requires a heartbeat, that’s how the dancers space is created. Their hands sweep through the air pushing unseen particles in all sorts of directions, the tiniest movement creating an energy like that of ripples from the tiniest rock that has been thrown into a pond.

The audience whoever it may be is awestruck as the dancers move. Weather it be your mirror at home. Your family on the couch. Your friends at a party. Or an audience that has filled an entire auditorium.

Dancing is a way to be intimate. It can be a way to show the world the inner workings of your soul. It tells a story, it moves to a song. It involves many or few. Its is expressed in so many different ways and done in so many different shapes and forms. It is a multicultural dialect that everyone understands and it will continue to be used as such to explain the heart the mind and the soul.

Emotions and Feelings making a Difference

I’ve been thinking about this all day today so I thought I might as well sit down and write about it. I was watching Peter Pan yesterday the one with real people in it and I find it so cool how the weather changes in Neverland depending on how Peter pan is feeling. When he comes back all the snow melts and the Ice breaks. When he is happy the sun shines, and when he is sad the clouds form and it begins to rain and snow.

The thought that has been penetrating my mind all day today was what if? What if this was how the weather worked here on our planet earth? What if our worlds storms and sunny days were not a result of precipitation or humidity in the air, but were dependent on the emotions and feelings of the people throughout the world. Lets imagine for a moment what this could maybe look like.

A mother has just lost her only son and on the day of the funeral the heavens pour out water, just like the mothers tears falling down her cheeks. Countless people are being abused and used over in Thailand where hatred and pain mixes together to create terrible destructive storms, and is it any surprise its just like the storms brewing inside of many of the people there. The sun shines wildly as a mother cries for joy at the sight of her newborn baby. A tropical storm ravishes the coast as a gang member has just been shot. A hail storm wipes out an entire crop because a farmer just abused his wife the day before. A rainbow colors the dull gray sky as a nervous young man proposes to the women who he has always dreamed of spending the rest of his life with. Now I know some of these can be possible, and some of them are a little far fetched. But how true could it be that our feelings and emotions cause things to happen?

Is it not true that we do and can change atmosphere with how we act and feel? Is it not true smiling at someone uses less muscles then frowning? Maybe it was meant to be. Studies have been done that show smiling really does change the atmosphere in a room. And Laughing is good for you. May I propose to you that we could maybe start smiling more and maybe we wouldn’t have to worry about storms anymore. Think about it! If one smile can change the grumpy atmosphere in one room. How much more could be changed if everyone smiled and laughed?

Maybe the world would be in a better mood if we were in a better mood. Not that im saying im right and that I know what I am talking about. But think about it for a moment. One smile you get a changed room. One million smiles no more tropical storms or tornadoes, or hail. Just rain, sunshine and nice days. So why don’t we start doing what out bodies were wired to do. Smile today! Why? Its easier. Laugh a little! Why? Its healthier. At the end of the day who knows what you may have done. Your little smile or unique laugh could affect the world. Give it a try!!!
